Annie Tomley
Annie is a legal secretary in our Cairns office providing support to Tanya Knauer in the area of Planning and Environment law.
Annie has over 30 years’ experience in various secretarial and Executive Assistant roles in Engineering, Mining and Law. She moved to Cairns in 2016 with her family from Perth and had been working in family law until the practice closed in June 2023. Annie took the opportunity to travel throughout NT with her family in their off-road camper for six weeks which was an experience that they all thoroughly enjoyed. On her return to Cairns, Annie took the opportunity to join P&E Law and develop her skills in planning and environment law.
Outside of work Annie is a volunteer for her local tennis club as Vice President and is the club representative on the FNQ Regional Assembly for Tennis Queensland. The role relies on her experience as an administrator to help drive growth at the club and support its members, committee and local community. Her passion for increasing junior female participation is her focus for the club. Her eldest daughter has ambitions to work for Tennis Australia as a development officer with ‘Girls in tennis’. Annie has also been a successful participant in Women Leaders in Sport programs facilitate by Tennis Australia and AIS. Both programs have introduced her to some remarkable female leaders in sport and these connections help drive her passion for club and local community.
In her other spare time, Annie loves to go camping and hiking and has a passion for bird watching. It can take her twice as long to do a hike than the rest of her family because she stops for all the pretty birds!
